Surprisingly Fabulous Food and Service
My expectations for Vescio's Cucina weren't incredibly high (what with the neon sign and slightly antiquated exterior) but my date and I went because of the half price wine. The Pinot Noir we picked was phenomenal and that was just the beginning of a wonderful evening. Warm bread with whipped butter that comes without asking (and is refilled - NO ONE does that anymore!!) and a charming waiter who seemed genuinely interested in meeting our needs (we chatted about baseball). I had pesto gnocchi and it was to DIE for. My date's prosciutto and chicken pasta had the best tasting noodles I can remember trying - they just melted and yet somehow weren't overcooked (I didn't try the meat but apparently it was great). We were so delighted that we told the hostess to give our compliments to the chef, and the chef came out to greet us personally. He was lovely, and when he heard that I was a vegetarian he went back in to personally get me a large take-home serving of his homemade meatless red sauce (we had already paid and tipped so he was not trying to secure more money, which is particularly refreshing).
We were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service at this place and whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone looking for some authentic tasting Italian food and great wine in the area.

I'd rather eat at Fazzoli's
My boyfriend and I went to Vescio's expecting the best and got the worst. We made reservations for 7:00 and did not get seated until 7:30. The waitress did not greet us until 5 minutes after we sat down. i am a waitress myself to the best of my knowledge, you are supposed to greet within 30 seconds. We did not receive the appetizer we ordered, I got the wrong dressing on my salad, & she forgot our garlic bread. The lasagna my bf ordered was average and the sauce tasted like Chef Boyardee. My chicken ramano was dry and unappealing. Overall I don not recommend this place. You're better off going to Fazzoli's or better yer Whitey's.
